Work in Progress!
Don't Panic in progress
Ella Rhoades and I are both members of the ArtsCare (Arts in Healthcare) team at Corvallis’ Art Center.  Ella is a self-proclaimed “mosaic passionista” and much-sought-after mosaic artist.  Her mosaics are fabulous – if it can stand still for more than 30 minutes, she can turn it into a mosaic!  She told me several months ago of an idea that came to her when she found some vintage wooden crutches: something that involved hospital gowns and/or scrubs hanging from those crutches, and possibly something that involved a new beading technique she was learning.  Since she doesn’t sew, she was wondering… and almost before she finished her sentence, I was envisioning a kimono.
Shortly after that my talented son the graffiti artist showed me a truly unique graphic he was working on called “Don’t Panic,” and we suddenly had both our title and (with his permission) the perfect final touch.  We are now nearly finished with “Don’t Panic”, a three-way collaboration which we think will be a part of the Arts in Health Care exhibit in January.  More on that soon…
